"ILHSD gives students all across Illinois the opportunity to discuss the issues that matter to them, connect with representatives, learn about politics, and join a network of driven young Democrats"

ILHSD has three main focuses: activism, campaigning, and expansion. 

ACTIVISM : ILHSD hosts virtual meetings and summits to discuss and learn about issues such as climate change and justice reform. We actively scout for opportunities for members to make changes in the areas that they care about by staying in connection with groups like Students Demand Action and Sunrise Movement. CAMPAIGNING : Every generation must learn democracy, and one of the best ways to do that as a student is to get involved with elections. ILHSD connects students to campaigns for Democrats to foster relationships with leaders in politics. We also phone bank for elections across the country as well as local ones. 

EXPANSION : Boasting over a thousand members across the state, ILHSD has a many passionate members. Still, we push forward to increase membership, especially in Chicago and rural areas, so that even more students can engage with politics and connect with fellow Democrats.
